Since 2005, the TRAGSA Group has been implementing a reconstruction program in Afghanistan, overseen directly by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation of Development (AECID). TRAGSA provides a multidisciplinary team of professionals to carry out the following reconstruction programs: infrastructure, water supply and sewage treatment, health, education, rural development and estate management. Development work takes place in the province of Badghis, located in northwestern Afghanistan; the company headquarters (offices and living areas) are located in the center of a military base, which requires all outside visits to be escorted. The nature of this project has evolved from the initial construction of foundational infrastructure (building airports, bridges, hospitals) to a more diverse endeavor, continuing to maintain current efforts but increasing work in rural communities, estate management, education, etc.
