History
The publicly-owned companies of Grupo Tragsa, specialized in nature conservation, rural development and the provision of emergency services, were established through their parent company Tragsa (Empresa de Transformación Agraria, SA), on January 21st, 1977, with the human and material resources of the Spanish National Institute of Agrarian Reform and Development (IRYDA).

Infrastructure for natural areas.
In the course of more than 30 years of history, Tragsa has become a company of reference for the work in fields such as nature conservation, rural development and the provision of emergency services.
The company is involved in the design and construction of infrastructures, in the use of technologies for water exploitation, in forest works and in the management of fishing resources and aquaculture.

SIGPAC Geographic Information System
Tragsatec (Tecnologías y Servicios Agrarios, SA) was established in 1989 and it is in charge of agrarian infrastructure, engineering and rural development, and agricultural, forest and environmental activities.
Tragsatec has consolidated itself in the world of new technologies with the development of computer applications such as SIGPAC, a complex and precise geographic information system for the identification of agricultural plots.

Animal health works
Tragsega (Sanidad Animal y Servicios Ganaderos, SA) was created in 2001 as a company specialized in animal husbandry and food safety, developing its work in the fight against animal diseases and in the organization and control of farms and animal husbandry industries, being a pioneer in Europe as for animal traceability.
In November 2010, Tragsatec assumed Tragsega's functions.
