Commitment to external initiatives United Nations Global Compact In 2006, the Grupo Tragsa embraced the United Nations Global Compact, the largest international initiative on corporate responsibility, whereby, in addition to its values and its code of conduct, it has adopted the Ten Principles agreed to in the Global Compact on human rights, labour conditions, the environment and the fight against corruption. The results of this commitment are published each year in the Sustainability Report, where it details its contribution and progress in defence of compliance with the Ten Principles of the Global Compact. Poznan Declaration By signing the Poznan Declaration in December of 2008, the Group reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to the protection of the environment and its adoption of a sustainable development model. This manifesto, resulting from the 14th International Conference on Climate Change, set as its main goal starting in 2012, to commit governments to specific actions in order to achieve a joint Plan of Action to combat global warming. 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights The Grupo Tragsa signed the manifesto of support for the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the occasion of its 60th anniversary (1948-2008). The signatory companies, members of the United Nations Global Compact, recognize the obligation to respect human rights and are committed to fulfilling that obligation, regardless of their country of origin or sector of activity. This initiative, aimed at business leaders from all over the world, has proven to be an essential tool to pressure governments that violate their human rights obligations.
