Protection, production, innovation and valuation of the chestnut tree as the focal point for rural development.

Its objective is to implement actions to transfer and highlight the results obtained so far in the selection, propagation and cataloguing of chestnut trees resistant to ink disease.
Tragsa leads a business consortium with end users of its products (plant quality). The actions to be carried out include: evaluating the results in the field and compatibility of the grafts for different uses of the chestnut tree; completing the current collections and evaluating their resistance; developing new grafting techniques, multiplying and managing plantations and new mycorrhization techniques; and applying new treatments against diseases and pests.
The project is funded by the ERDF-Innterconecta program, an initiative involving the Galician Agency for Innovation and the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), and is co-funded by the Technology Fund. This is a special area of ERDF funds dedicated to the promotion of business R&D&I.
