The objective of this project is to complete the Catalogue of Cabañales, Cabañas and Singular Elements, planned as one of its management tools, in the Special Plan for the Protection and Management of the Pasiego Territory (PEPOTP).

The main purpose of this classification is to assign the categories of protection established by the Special Plan for the Protection and Management of the Pasiego Territory (Special, High, Low or General) to all the cabins (cabañas) and groups of cabins (cabañales), where "cabañal" is understood as the social unit of occupation of the Pasiego territory, defined as the set of properties and cabins that occupy a space delimited or demarcated by communal lands or lands of common use and that are recognized by a name or their own, particular place name.
For this reason, a classification of the cabañales was carried out within the scope of the Plan, including each one of the cabañas and singular elements: hermitages, bridges, water fountains, cisterns etc.
Creating the catalogue was made possible thanks to the work of 6 teams on the ground, each consisting of a team leader and two assistants, who travelled throughout the land, following a specific methodology established for that purpose, taking measurements, variables, and photos. For determining the levels of protection, we collaborated together with a historian who is an expert in Pasiego heritage.
A computer application in SQL Server was also developed, in order to dump all of the data obtained and to facilitate the management of the Catalog.
