A." farm Activity: Emergencies Product: Biological or health phenomena Geographic data: Guadalajara, España Start date: October 2009 End date: November 2010 In October 2009, an outbreak of highly pathogenic Avian Influenza, serotype H7, was declared at the "Granjas Segura, S.A." farm, in Almoguera. For its control and eradication, TRAGSATEC employed all the necessary means to carry out the slaughter of the birds on the farm. The work performed as part of this project, which is important due to its serious health and social impact, consisted of the policy of stamping-out 100% of the birds present on the farm, through the use of CO2, complying with all the requirements set out in the current legislation. All the corpses of the animals and all of their by-products, including eggs, fodder, manure and litter, were subsequently buried on the farm itself.
