The Visitor Center is designed to bring the environment of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the archipelago of Cabrera to the public, through a thematic itinerary that is structured around different tanks where the most representative species of the Mediterranean can be observed.

The use of audiovisual equipment, 3D projections, panels, models and tanks with live animals, give visitors an approach to a hidden reality and enable them to experience new physical sensations such as discovering what it's like to touch the skin of a shark.
The importance of these centres lies in their educational facet and in their role of raising awareness to preserve the environment, in this case exemplifying the various prohibited types of fishing and explaining their effects and disadvantages.
The visit is organized around several rooms, starting with the use of different background projections and speeches to explain the main characteristics of the terrestrial environment of the archipelago of Cabrera. On exiting this room, the visitor can have an actual view of the archipelago of Cabrera from a lookout point located in the highest part of the building, at more than 18 m above sea level.
For reviewing the marine ecosystem, the Visitor Center has some panoramic elevators located inside of an aquarium. The subsequent ascent to the surface is performed through a spiral walkway lined with an artistic mural extending 500 m2, mounted on a cone of reinforced concrete, where the artist Miguel Mansanet depicts scenes and figures representing the different civilizations that have inhabited the coast of the Mediterranean.
On the outside of the building there are different corten steel sculptures and others made of molded fiberglass, representing species of the local fauna.
