Project: Design and construction of works in Cahuita National Park Activity: Infrastructures Product: Road infrastructure Geographic data: Costa Rica Start date: September 2015 End date: January 2016 Construction of elevated footpath, building for a service module, changing rooms and showers and vehicle parking area. The Cahuita National Park is a protected natural area, located in the province of Limón, which has 22,400 marine hectares and 1,106 terrestrial hectares. The actions have focused on different sectors within the Park. Design and construction of the following works was undertaken for Costa Rica’s National Conservation Area Service (SINAC) with funding from the IDB Tourism project of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB): • Elevated wooden path (walkway) measuring 2 km in length. • Jetty, boardwalk, operational centre, toilets, car park in the town of Cahuita. • Design of a master plan for the future location of buildings and facilities for park personnel, including toilets, showers, car park and access road from the park entrance.
