Project: Management of phytosanitary inspections in import/export of plant products: CEXVEG Activity: Health and Sanitation Product: Plant health Geographic data: Madrid, España Start date: December 2015 End date: October 2017 Development of the computer system for the integrated management of phytosanitary inspections on plant imports and for issuing phytosanitary certificates for export. CEXVEG manages the processing of 250,000 import/export files per year, with more than 1,600 registered users, encompassing the production, importer and exporter sectors, as well as the Public Administrations. CEXVEG is used to manage export specific campaigns that arise as a result of bilateral agreements between Spain and third countries. The system details all phytosanitary controls that are carried out to minimize the risks of pest and disease transmission (for instance such as registration of authorized places of production), as well as controls carried out over the process of product production and preparation and in the final issuance of the phytosanitary certificate for export. Major export campaigns include: -Oranges and tangerines to the US -Citrus to Australia, China, South Korea and Mexico. -Stone fruit to Canada and South Africa -Plums and peaches to China -Tomatoes and peppers to the US -Apricots and avocados to the US -Pome fruit to Israel Tragsatec provides Customer Service Center services via phone and email to exporters/importers and BIP (Border Inspection Post) inspectors, taking an average of 25 calls and 15 emails a day. It also collaborates to update the CEXVEG program by adapting it to new needs that arise each year. These activities have been carried out for MAGRAMA since 2009.
